Baseball writing needed.
Edward J. Reilly, Department of English,Saint Joseph's College,
278 Whites Bridge Road, Standish, ME 04084-5263, 207-893-7930, invites
expressions of interest in submitting an essay examining the
relationship between baseball and a specific aspect of American
society for a collection of essays, Across the Diamond,
Essays on Baseball and American Culture, to be published by Haworth
Press. Completed essays will be due May 1, 2001. Anyone who is interested
should send as soon as possible one or two paragraphs describing
a specific topic and approach and a paragraph about his/her relevant
background. This material may be emailed to erielly@sjcme. edu but
must be within the message rather than as an attachment.

etc. on Jewish ballplayers, coaches, owners and
related areas. Planning on producing short presentation for local
organizations on a non-profit basis, and hope to promote SABR through
this effort, as well. All inquiries will be acknowledged.

her father, Bill Rigney. They seek any reminiscences,
photos, articles, etc. contg;v.cerning Rig's career as a player
(youth, minor leagues, N.Y. Giants, Angels, Twins) and as a scout,
broadcaster and executive (Angels, Athletics).

on strange and unusual injuries to baseball players
both on and off the field, such as cutting finger on champagne glass
celebrating pennant and missed starts, or hit by golf club in the
clubhouse, cutting tendons with knife given as birthday present,
etc. Can be any level, but particularly interested in professional
or college. Items which have been in newspapers preferred since
confidentiality important.
